v1 — DRAFT, pending legal review — adapted from the 2026-08-28 help-center Privacy Notice

Effective date: 2026-09-09

Privacy Policy

Draft — this text is pending legal review and may change before it is final. It is the click-through version of the Privacy Notice in the help center, accepted once per account when the account is created.

This Privacy Policy covers personal data for which Proust is the controller. For interview content, the business that ran the interview is the controller, and the Data Processing Agreement (accepted alongside this policy) governs how Proust processes it on their behalf. Participants who scanned a QR: the plain-language version of everything below is at proust.dev/privacy.

1. Who we are

Proust ("we") operates proust.dev and the Proust interview service. Contact: privacy@proust.dev.

2. What we collect, why, and for how long

3. What we don't do

4. Sharing

Personal data is shared only with the service providers that run Proust — listed, with what each one touches, on the "Your data & privacy" page in the help center — and where the law requires it. Providers act under data-processing terms and cannot use the data for their own purposes.

5. Website and cookies

The Proust website sets no advertising cookies and does no cross-site tracking. The cookies it sets keep merchants signed in and remember that a device already did an interview at a venue today. Product analytics, where enabled, are explicit events with no session replay and no interview content.

6. Your rights

Anyone can ask us to access, correct, or delete their personal data, or to stop panel contact, by emailing privacy@proust.dev. We respond within 45 days. We extend these rights to everyone, regardless of where you live.

7. Security and breach

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest; access is role-limited. If a breach affects your personal data we will notify you without undue delay.

8. Changes

We post changes here with a new version and effective date; material changes get 30 days' notice to account holders.

Version v1. Accepted by click-through when you create your Proust account; the accepting account, version, and time are recorded. See also Terms of Use, Data Processing Agreement and Mutual NDA, and the terms & privacy index.
